Convention 2021 -16th October
This was our first get together since the AGM in April 2019 and it was enjoyed by the 32 members and partners that attended. Most arrived at the Holiday Inn on Friday and we took over one end of the hotel restaurant for an enjoyable evening meal.
We were allowed to use the Leicestershire Suite on Friday and several traders setup most of their tables during the evening.
On Saturday the traders completed their setup and we squeezed in a short formal AGM before the doors opened for the sale day.
Ollie and Penny organised the usual large raffle - even bigger this time with the donation of several giant factices and some valuable bottles from the USA. Chris Hipkiss attended as usual as MC, Security, Soundman and raffle announcer.
Sale day featured eight traders with a wide variety of bottles and ephemera for sale and trade seemed to be steady through the day.
So, a successful day overall. The hotel and staff were excellent and everybody enjoyed the buffet lunch and the abundant cakes and pastries that appeared at regular intervals.
The best part as always though was meeting old and new friends and renewing friendships.
